Health Center NEWS
health services staff wanted to let students and families know that there will be limited expanded medical services at the health center on Fridays. A staff member is on leave for at least 6 weeks to recover from surgery. Marty Soule, physician assistant, will be able to cover a few Fridays later in October. With the resident physicians no longer coming to the health center on Thursdays, this does leave a gap in access to services for our students - we apologize for any inconvenience this will cause. Health Services staff is exploring adding a provider for Thursdays and will work diligently to fill this gap as soon as possible. As always, the school nurse is in the middle school and high school every day and Marty Soule is in the health center Monday through Wednesdays. If you have any questions, call Cindy Flye, health center coordinator at 685-4923, x 325.

A big congratulations to Teal Team 6th grader Jaedon DeRosby!
Jaedon competed at the Maine Medal Finals held at Pineland Equestrian Center on Sunday September 28th.Ê The Maine Medal Finals has served as a New England regional final for aspiring hunt seat equestrians.Ê In order to compete at the Finals, a rider must qualify in one of five divisions by earning points in qualifying classes at local horse shows throughout the season.ÊThere are well over 40 horse shows each year in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts offering qualifying classes.Ê A rider must accumulate 10 points to qualify.Ê ÊThe show season typically begins in April and ends in September. Ê This year Jaedon competed in the Children's Jumping Equitation Division 2'3" ages 17 and under.Ê Normally Jaedon competes on her own horse, Twiggy.ÊÊBut since her horseÊwas injuredÊearly in the show season, Jaedon had to switch horses andÊcompete on a Meadow View lesson horse, Spirit with Spots.ÊÊ Jaedon takes her riding very seriously and chooses this sport over all the traditional ones.Ê She practices every day.Ê Her hard work and devotion to riding isÊadmirable.Ê At this year's finals, 45 riders competed in the 2'3" division.Ê Jaedon finished in the top 25 - great job!Ê
